ABOUT US - Our History...
- It is rumored...
It is rumored that baseball in the Delaware area began in the 1960's, maybe as early as 1963. But there is no historical record to back our claim (at least none found to date),... not until 1968.
- Approximately, 1979 A.D...
MBDAA took over Baseball and Hockey in 1979 (for a couple of years), and then gave baseball back to Delaware in/around about 1982. Originally, there were two Associations, one in Delaware, and one in Mt. Brydges. After the hockey amalgamation, it was decided that Mt. Brydges would would run the Hockey program and Delaware would run the Baseball organization. Joe Clark (a prominent Delaware resident) had a hand in it, as well as Ross McTaggart. Both men (we believe), were Presidents of the organization -- at one time or another.
- Ressurection...
Unfortunately, Baseball in the area 'died' soon after Delaware took on the program. Cathy MacKay (another prominent Delaware resident), resurected the program in about 1985, so that her kids would have a chance to play. Cathy was President until 1994 when Jim Silverthorne took the helm. He was President until 2003 when he stepped down due to illness. The position has 'technically' been open since then, although Baseball continues to thrive in DMBMB to this day -- even without a 'Captain-of-the-Ship'.

Please check back often, as we hope this section will become a 'living testament' of our existence in the Delaware/Mt. Brydgres area. We're in the process of gathering more and more photos -- but need YOUR input, to make this compilation a success!
